Prof Nichole Flores was involved in the drafting and leadership committee for a new statement on faith & democracy that was released this week at a conference hosted by Jim Wallis & Georgetown University's Center for Faith & Justice. The statement grapples with the resurgent problem of religiously supported nationalism and authoritarianism and attempts to marshal a broad spectrum of Christian leaders in support of pluralistic, multiracial, peaceful democracy in the United States and around the world
