Research Interests

New Testament and Early Christian Literature, Christian Apocrypha, Apocryphal Acts.

The majority of my research to date centers around the Christian apocrypha, particularly the apocryphal acts of the apostles.  My first book explores the literary context and significance of the animal-related episodes that are so common in the acts, and in subsequent articles I have treated various other aspects of these texts. I am currently working on a commentary on the apocryphal Acts of John, alongside translations of various apocryphal texts.

I am associate editor of Mohr-Siebeck’s Wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen zum Neuen Testament series [link: https://www.mohrsiebeck.com/en/monograph-series/wissenschaftliche-untersuchungen-zum-neuen-testament-wunt-i] and co-editor (with Tony Burke and Brent Landau) of Westar Tools & Translation’s Early Christian Apocrypha series [link: https://wipfandstock.com/catalog/series/view/id/224/].
