A Discussion of (Post-)Mourning in Elegiac Poetry in the Caribbean with Prof. Jahan Ramazani
University Professor and Edgar F. Shannon Professor, Director of Modern and Global Studies, University of Virginia
Lunch provided.
All are welcome! The R&L Workshop is intended for anyone who reads, studies, teaches, or writes about literary texts in their religious studies work. Last year graduate students and faculty from a wide range of research areas participated, including American Studies, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islamic Studies, Judaism, and Religion, Literature, and Culture. The first hour of our regular Thursday lunches focuses on discussing a pre-circulated text or a conversation with a visiting speaker; an additional half hour will be devoted to workshopping a graduate student’s pre-circulated work, if the request for a workshop slot is made in advance. Reading suggestions welcome!
