This month's workshop will discuss Rita Felski’s “Preface” from Hooked: Art and Attachment (8 pages), and Manav Ratti’s “Preface” from The Postsecular Imagination: Postcolonialism, Religion, and Literature (10 pages). Lunch will be provided.

The R&L Workshop is intended for anyone who reads, studies, teaches, or writes about literary texts in their religious studies work. Last year graduate students and faculty from a wide range of research areas participated, including American Studies, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islamic Studies, Judaism, and Religion, Literature, and Culture. The first hour of our regular Thursday lunches focuses on discussing a pre-circulated text or a conversation with a visiting speaker; an additional half hour will be devoted to workshopping a graduate student’s pre-circulated work, if the request for a workshop slot is made in advance. Reading suggestions welcome!
