Haseena Sahib entered the PhD program in Religious Studies at UVA in Fall 2022.  Her research interests include Sufism (Islamic mysticism), Sufi poetry and literature, Islamic philosophy, Women Scholarship in Islam, Comparative religion, and Religion and the Environment.  In her free time Haseena enjoys writing her own poetry, singing, playing the traditional Middle Eastern/North African frame drums, and being an advocate for the environment and human rights.
