Bio
Hillary Dickinson primarily focuses on moral injury, which is broadly defined as the pain that comes from the discrepancy between what should happen versus what does happen. That said, scholars are still debating the definition of moral injury, making it an exciting and rewarding subject of study.
Hillary has a lifelong interest in lived values and purpose-driven change. She began her career on Capitol Hill, serving the House of Representatives Committee on Veterans Affairs, which aimed to empower and assist military veterans in living healthy and meaningful lives after separation. Her work focused on understanding the obstacles that veterans face when seeking care and services and then building coalitions to implement long-term solutions.
Next, Hillary worked for companies including Booz Allen Hamilton as a consultant for the Department of the Air Force. In these roles, Hillary’s job involved translating technical information for a general audience, so that diverse groups of people could identify shared objectives and common solutions.
Most recently, Hillary has served as the lead project manager and management consultant, getting to work with clients throughout their entire change management journey: from identifying objectives and formulating a course of action all the way to implementation and close-out.
She previously majored in Religious Studies at the College of William & Mary, where she also minored in Business Management & Organizational Leadership. She also holds a master’s in military Operational Art & Science degree with a concentration in Joint Warfare from the Air Command & Staff College.
