Eben Yonnetti was selected for a Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Program in Buddhist Studies Dissertation Fellowship to support his doctoral project entitled "The Transmission, Adaptation, and Localization of Tibetan Buddhism in Modern Taiwan" in 2021-2022. Eben's doctoral research examines the recent growth and development of Tibetan Buddhism in Taiwan from 1980 to the present through a combination of archival and in-depth ethnographic research among Tibetan Buddhist communities in Taipei and Tainan. Through this work studying how Tibetan Buddhist teachers and practitioners have adapted and localized practices, rituals, and narratives in the Taiwanese religious landscape, Eben aims to contribute to conversations on Global Buddhism(s), contemporary Sino-Tibetan religious exchange, and the study of transnational religious transmission.
