Dr. Lennart Lehmhaus to Speak on the Transfer of Medical Knowledge in Talmudic Discourses

The Religious Studies Department's Judaism and Christianity in Antiquity Colloquium will enjoy a guest lecture by Dr. Lennart Lehmhaus on Monday, Nov. 6.  Dr. Lehmhaus's work focuses on the transfer of medical knowledge in Talmudic and other late ancient literature; he is currently researching at the University of Pennsylvania's Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies.  His talk is entitled "Between 'Gentile Healing' and 'Giving Life to Idolaters': Talmudic Discourses on Socio-Medical Interactions in Late Antiquity."  The lecture and discussion will be held from 11:30-1:00 in Nau 141.
